"Inktober - all ink all the time" Empending Doom! advertising vinette banner. The logo does say Inktober.
Although I have learned much recently about transposing my graphic ideas to both analog and the digital formats and gathering those tools of knowledge it's important to remember the roots of design includes drawing to some extent. The Illustrare portion of the Scorpius design format is the root word for illustration. Traditionally speaking this job might also includes printmaking; etching,woodcut,lithography,and serigraphy which are very old techniques that artists and poster makers would use before modern printing and file storing technologies. The challenge to myself is to try work on basic line and getting some flow by practice and studying tutorials of techniques by others that I have recently discovered on youtooob. Frank Frazetta is one highly respected artist that comes to mind that I will examine further but also crust punk and underground horror comic styled artists. This includes brushwork and specifically limiting the tools with the use of dip pens, india ink,and fine liners as well.Hand drawing logos recently is a warm up for some more original ideas that hopefully can develop into a more personal style that ultimately is real art from my imagination. We shall see where the challenge ends up but that's the basic outline for the Inkctober challenge . Prepare for DOOM!

Trying to speed things up with a looser process. I tend to go overboard on detail that can really slow down overall production.with all the experimentation in searching for a style. I have so many ideas that finding a flow in the outbox is becoming mandatory to keeping the inspiration percolating.

A simple design in response to my over working stuff. Nothing is actually glued down this time and it looks just fine.This piece gives me a good indication of where this style is headed without beating myself up too much. sometimes I will stay up all night trying to work an idea out and this just fell together rather quickly in a couple of hours.
